Before Midnight – Movie Review

Have you been waiting for the next installment in the Before Sunrise-After Sunset series??  Well, if you have, your wait is over.  The new Julie Delpy-Ethan Hawke movie called Before Midnight has arrived.

I had to see it.  We loved the other two movies and now nine years later, almost two decades after Jesse and Celine met on a train to Vienna, we find them married, living in Paris with kids and navigating a relationship.  The movie takes place in Greece where they are at the end of a summer’s vacation.

Before the movie started, the manager of Kendall Cinema addressed the audience, hoping we’d enjoy the movie and wondered if we anticipated this movie as much as he did.

Well, I loved it.  I laughed.  I cried.  I identified.  I think everyone will.  I didn’t want it to end.  If you like action adventure movies, go see Star Wars.  If you like movies that are well written with great dialogue, go see it.  I won’t say more.  I don’t want to spoil anything for you.  One thing, if you haven’t seen the other two movies in this series, rent them before you see Before Midnight.

See you at the bar….
