Off The Boat Seafood…

If you don’t want to hassle with parking or North End prices, go to East Boston – D’Amelio’s Off The Boat Seafood specifically.  Up the street from the entrance to the Sumner Tunnel on Porter Street sits a little restaurant that seats about 26 people.  It was a take-out but evolved into a restaurant.  It’s been around but not on our radar until last weekend.

It might be little but what’s coming out of the kitchen is big!  The family has been in the business and knows how to cook. It’s not pretentious.  Everyone seems to be regulars.  The waitresses know everyone and they are so friendly.  Oh, and the food.  It’s good, really good.  It’s seafood and Italian specialities.

We ordered a very reasonably priced bottle of Pinot Grigio and started with a well dressed ceasar salad and then shared a  homemade fussilli with shrimp, scallops and lobster tails in a garlic and butter sauce.  It was fresh, the sauce not overbearing and we ate every morsel.  For dessert, a canoli and an espresso.

Do yourself a favor, check it out.

See you at the bar….
